The structure of the SFR partnership has seen some changes over the past year. The SFR was originally a partnership between NFU Energy and Crops for Energy. NFU Energy has amicably withdrawn from this partnership and the SFR is now wholly owned by Crops for Energy Ltd.
We have been reviewing our systems and, most importantly, the user experience of the Sustainable Fuel Register. We appreciate that the old system was troublesome and convoluted for our service users, and we would like to thank you for your patience with this while we have worked to make improvements.
We are delighted with our new revamped system which will be simpler and easier for all of our users. Please watch this space. We will add some video tutorials shortly.
We have been able to keep our fees static since 2018, but the system improvements have necessitated a slight increase in charges. Therefore, any new registrations from 2024 will be £250 per year (for 100 tonnes) with an additional tonnage fee of £0.60 per tonne thereafter.
The new system will bill you automatically, with bills for Miscanthus users being issued in June and bills for Straw users issued in October.
Please note that in order to stay on the system and get access to your SFR numbers, you need to pay the annual renewal fee. Failure to pay this fee will mean your SFR account and numbers will be frozen.
We trust this information is clear and agreeable. However, if you have any questions or concerns about your individual account or registrations, please reach out to us for support.
